Privacy Policy

1. Local-first storage

All data you create in FinSight Offline — transactions, categories, payment methods, budgets, investments, balance sheet entries, tags and notes — is stored in a local, on-device database. This data is never transmitted to us or to any third party as part of normal app use.

2. On-device AI assistant

The AI assistant runs entirely on your device using a locally downloaded model. Your questions and financial data are processed on-device and are not sent to any server for inference. The first time you enable the assistant, the app downloads the AI model file itself (not your data) from our content delivery network over the internet.

3. Optional backup

If you choose to enable backup, FinSight Offline can create an encrypted backup of your local database and store it in a Google Drive folder that you control, using your own Google account. This is entirely opt-in — backups are never created or uploaded automatically. We do not have access to your Google Drive or to the contents of any backup you create.

4. Statement import

If you use the statement import feature, files you select (e.g. a bank statement PDF or photo) are processed on-device to extract transactions. These files are not uploaded to us.

5. Permissions

• Camera — only used if you choose to photograph a statement for import.
• Microphone — only used if you choose to use voice input with the AI assistant.
• Internet — used only to download the AI model on first setup and, if enabled, to sync an optional Google Drive backup.
• Notifications — used for local budget and reminder alerts, scheduled entirely on-device.

6. Data we do not collect

We do not collect your financial data, do not require an account or email address to use the app, do not use analytics or advertising SDKs, and do not sell or share data with third parties, because we do not have access to it in the first place.

7. Subscriptions & purchases

Paid tiers are billed and processed entirely by Google Play. We receive only the entitlement status (e.g. active subscriber) needed to unlock features — never your payment details, which are handled solely by Google Play.

8. Deleting your data

Because your data lives on your device, uninstalling the app or clearing app data removes it completely, including any local backups. If you created a Google Drive backup, you can delete it yourself from your Drive.

9. Children's privacy

FinSight Offline is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date.
